“Because the art of being gay is being gay," he said.
We stan an educated cisgender, heterosexual man! This week that recognition goes to R&B crooner Tank, who is educating his cishet kin on the peculiarities of being gay.
While appearing on the podcast Lip Service to promote his new album, Elevation, he said that just because a man has sucked dick before doesn't mean he's gay. He was answering a question from host Angela Yee, who was disputing the idea that just because a man has lied before, that doesn't make him a liar. She was basically trying to say that even lying once makes a man a liar in the way that sucking dick once might make him gay.
Tank had some things to say about that analogy.
"He sucked a dick once and then he's like, 'I'm not sure if I liked it or not. Let me try again.' And then he says, 'You know what, it's not for me...'" the singer said, "It doesn't mean he's gay. It means he sucked dick twice. Because the art of being gay isbeing gay."
Insert mind blown gif here.

The video clip, which is making its way around social media, was pulled from a much longer episode of Yee's podcast in which the artist talks being married at a young age, eating ass, and more.
Yee, who you may know as one-third of the oftentimes problematic The Breakfast Clubradio show cohort (which includes DJ Envy and Charlamagne tha God), hosts Lip Service as a safe space for celebrities to talk all things sex. Conversations about fellatio are far from foreign, but based on the responses of Yee and her other cohosts -- who initially seem surprised by Tank's answer -- same-gender sex might not be as familiar a topic.
Tank is a noted supporter of LGBTQ+ people, or at least he has no problem taking our money. The singer made headlines in 2017 for performing at a Washington, D.C. Black Gay Pride event.
In this instance, the musician dodged what could've been an opportunity to let toxic masculinity and homophobia run rampant by reminding his hetero mates that being LGBTQ+ is about more than what we do behind closed doors and in dark alleys. When he says "you strike out at three" -- meaning after three dicks, you're a homo -- we might have to agree! (Totally kidding! *side eye*)
You know what they say -- everybody is a little gay.
