Did we need one more perfect party bop to cap off the summer? Obviously. Thanks to Charli XCX and Brazilian drag sensation Pabllo Vittar, we've got one. On Friday, Vittar dropped "Flash Pose," which features XCX and a quartet of yummy dancers.
The track is a classic 90s club jam updated for 2019. Vittar, who usually sings in Portuguese, delivers the lyrics in English -- maybe she's hoping for her first big American dance hit?
"We can try this out / But you gotta know what I'm about," Vittar sings in the pre-chorus, before making a demand in the chorus: "Get in my picture, pose / Get in my frame, close." XCX takes over in the second verse: "Look good when I walk in the party / Ride pink cars like Malibu Barbie / Dressed up 1999 Versace / I love Pabllo, Pabllo loves Charli."
This is Vittar and XCX's second collaboration: they first teamed up for "I Got It" alongside Cupcakke and Brooke Candy and XCX's 2017 mixtape Pop 2. Charli announced earlier this summer that Vittar will appear on her upcoming album Charli on a track called "Shake It," which will also feature Big Freedia, Cupcakke, and Brooke Candy.
Last year, Vittar toldOut that her music is inspired by "anything from my usual daily stuff [to] of course, my life, and my feelings. If we talk about rhythms, I love everything that's regional that shows us how people from a certain place like different kinds of mixtures and sounds."
