If the browning of America didn't make you want to learn Spanish, then the video for Maluma's latest collaboration with gay icon Ricky Martin definitley will. The two star in a Baywatch-inspired partyscape for the freshly-dropped video for "No Se Me Quita."
The track, off of Maluma's latest studio album, 11:11, is about a single, amazing night with someone who you can't get off your mind. And there's a line, el sabor de tu boca sigue estando en mi boca, which means something like, The taste of your mouth is still in my mouth... -- AND I OOP!
The setting of the video is on a beach where Maluma is trying to get the attention of one of the lady lifeguards. So what does he do? He fakes drowning -- think The Sandlot and how Squints plotted to kiss Wendy Peffercorn, sort of -- by throwing a bucket of water on his head and hitting the sand. Meanwhile, Martin calls for help from the fine lady lifeguard brigade. The video also features some cute dance moves from the pair with inflatable flamingos and other beach-related props filling the background.
Now, while this is a track that will surely have us whining our hips into fall, the one thing I was missing from the video was SKIN! Like, how do we have these two snacks in one video and we're not completely drenched in lust by its end? That being said though, I do love that flowy silk buttoned-down look, with only one button fastened.
The colorful video was shot in Miami and directed by Nuno Gomes, but not the first time Maluma and Martin have teamed up. According to Billboard, they previously collaborated on Vente Pa' Ca, one of the biggest Spanish-language hits of 2016.
