It sounds like a joke, but she totally did it.

The "gay rights" meme -- which is essentially calling anything tangential to, or of interest for the gay community an example of "gay rights" -- is a bit out of control. And that's on all of us. Here at out, we've gone so far as to make it into headlines. But if anything warranted, it's this new video of Charli XCX.

In a clip uploaded to Twitter, the pop star hoists a bottle of poppers -- Rush, naturally -- into the air and literally yells "gay rights." That's it. That's the tweet. That's the story.
Why exactly she did this, we do not know, but Bobby Caruso, the writer who posted the video, apparently is in possession of this particular bottle now. Charli went on to post the clip on her own Instagram, which obviously brought in a flood of ~fun~ alternate captions from fans. They do not disappoint.
She even signed a fan's poppers, seemingly at the same event.

"This is iconic tbh" she replied when he posted the photos to Twitter.
For those who are falsely under the impression that the singer doesn't know what she's doing, or what she's holding, you would be mistaken! Not only is sniffing poppers while listening to her music, clearly a part of the culture of her fandom, but she's even considered as a business opportunity.
"Imagine if I made XCX poppers," she tweeted in May. We love an entrepreneur and self-aware queen.
Stream Charli* now.
*Best enjoyed with a fresh bottle of Rush.
