UPDATE (1/27/2020): Lil Nas X had all the right reasons to be on a high for the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards: he took home a trophy before the televised portion started for Best Music Video, he snatched Best Pop Duo/Group Performance when the televised awards began, and he performed a new mega remix of "Old Town Road" with Billy Ray Cyrus, Nas, BTS, Diplo, Mason Ramsey, and Young Thug -- yeah, the man was busy! And yet on social media, people were hellbent on bringing him down.
Shortly after Nas X's first Grammy award was announced, he tweeted his thanks, writing "I AM NOW GRAMMY AWARD WINNING ARTIST LIL NAS X!!!" It didn't take long for people to begin to crowd his mentions with backlash. The reason: news had just broke that Kobe Bryant and his daughter and just died. The rapper had previously posted a RIP tweet with a photo of Bryant.
The negative tweets proved too much for Nas X who eventually deleted his post about the win. "Didn't mean any disrespect to Kobe with that announcement," he wrote as a follow up. "The news made me sad too! Sending love to those grieving."

ORIGINAL (01/26/2020): Lil Nas X has been on an astronomical high over the past year with his track "Old Town Road." he's snatched just about every trophy there was to snatch for it. And so it should come as little surprise that the musician got some recognition from the Grammys.
Ahead of the televised event, the singer's "Old Town Road" took home Best Music Video from the awards show. Directed by Calmatic and produced by Candice Dragonas, Melissa Larsen, and Saul Levitz, the video also features Billy Ray Cyrus. It is the version of the song that was created with Cyrus that experienced the viral success.
Nas X and Cyrus beat out FKA Twigs, Tove Lo, The Chemical Brothers, and Gary Clark Jr. for the prize which was announced on the Grammy's website and social media as well as at the ceremony
"THANK U TO EVERYBODY!!" Nas X wrote to Twitter about the announcement. "I AM NOW GRAMMY AWARD WINNING ARTIST LIL NAS X!!!" And that he is! For the event, he appeared on stage with the team -- sans Cyrus -- wearing a matching white shirt and trouser set, white hat, and almost trademark Shaun Ross for United Nude heeled boots.
The Grammy will add to his MTV Video Music Award, Country Music Award and certified diamond status. In addition to those accolades, the rapper has also covered Billboard and Time magazines. Yeah, it's been quite a year.
This might be the end of the line though, for Old Town Road at least. There isn't much left out there that the song still qualifies for. I guess this is what he meant by "ride till I can't no more."
