6 Miley Cyrus Covers That Prove the Performer is a True Star

Miley Cyrus loves a good cover, and we love a good Miley Cyrus cover. Luckily for us, there's a whole library of great ones to choose from on YouTube. Cyrus is one of the most eclectic artists of her generation, singing everything from country pop, to stoner anthems and club bangers but at the end of the day, she's a powerhouse vocalist with great tone and control. She shows that in all of its versatility when she's putting her own spin on classics.
From her Backyard Sessions, to the Happy Hippie Project, to covers added to her live show setlists, here are our favorite covers performed by Miley Cyrus.
"Jolene" by Dolly Parton
All the way back in 2012, Miley started The Backyard Sessions, where she sang covers in her backyard. She hit it out of the park and reminded everyone that she's got a great voice with this cover of her godmother's classic song of betrayal. This is pure country Miley at her best.
'Don't Dream it's Over' by Crowded House
While the vocals might not be as strong as some of the others on this list, this is definitely Miley's cutest cover. She and Ariana Grande both dressed up in kigurumis and sitting on an inflatable couch give there all for this 80s classic. Plus you get to see her flirt with Ariana, so this is a must-see.
"Androgynous" by The Replacements
Miley was having a great time exploring what it means to be genderqueer for herself when she sang this cover with a little all star help from Joan Jett and Laura Jane Grace. She proved that she doesn't always need to be the star of the show to shine.
'Wildflowers' by Tom Petty
Miley is pretty in pink in this simple and understated Tom Petty cover. Her singing is absolutely beautiful in this, and she doesn't need to do anything wild in order to show it. She brought her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus along to The Tonight Show and they both got back to their roots with this tribute.
'Heart of Glass' by Blondie
Miley performed this killer cover at the iHeart Festival this year. Her vocals really soar on this one and she proves that she's a natural rocker who's great at working a crowd. Plus, she looks absolutely amazing in this glam rock outfit.
'Zombie' by The Cranberries
Another rocking performance, this time live from Whisky a Go Go, Miley takes full advantage of the raspiness inherent in her voice as she absolutely wails all the way through this Cranberries alt-rock classic. Miley having fun is the best Miley, and she's having a great time here.
