Grammy, Emmy, and Tony-winning icon Cyndi Lauper is returning to her annual "Home for the Holidays" benefit concert for the 10h time this Friday, December 11, and she's bringing a hell of a lot of help.
This year's concert includes, almost literally, all of your LGBTQ+ favorites and a few iconic allies. Bette Midler, Dolly Parton, Cher, Whoopi Goldberg, Sharon Osbourne, and Taylor Swift are scheduled to appear or perform, and that's just the straights.
The concert will feature LGBTQ+ stars like comedian Judy Gold, Grammy Award-winning DJ Tracy Young, Broadway legend Harvey Fierstein, Pose star Billy Porter, superstar producer Justin Trantor, and original Queer Eye star Carson Kressley. The cast of Kinky Boots will also appear.
Lauper is also bringing out the really big gay guns with the singers she's tapped to appear. In her lineup, she's got Kim Petras, Shea Diamond, King Princess, Adam Lambert, and Brandi Carlile. This year's four-time Grammy nominee Phoebe Bridgers and five-time Grammy nominee Brittany Howard are also scheduled to perform.
100% of the net proceeds from the "Home for the Holidays" concert go to True Colors United, the organization Lauper co-founded 12 years ago to help combat homelessness among LGBTQ+ youth.
"The Home for the Holidays concert is 10 years and over 100 artists in, and has raised over three million dollars, which is beyond what I could have imagined when we began," Lauper said in a statement. "Most importantly though, we are truly helping LGBTQ young people experiencing homelessness."
The concert will also feature the debut of a new animated PSA featuring Lauper's voice. This PSA launches the first ever global campaign on LGBTQ+ youth homelessness. True Colors United teamed up with the United Nations Human Rights Office for the campaign.
The streams will be free to watch, and fans will be encouraged to donate to True Colors United through donation buttons on TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook. You can also donate by texting TrueColors to 24365 or online.
Cyndi Lauper's "Home for the Holidays" Benefit Concert will premiere at 8pm EST on December 11 on TikTok, and 8pm EST on the 13th on YouTube and Facebook.
