In a bit of a surprise release, singer Orville Peck linked up with Shania Twain for a new single. Titled "Legends Never Die" the track debuted alongside its music video of the same name. And, as always with Orville, the visuals are truly amazing.
For the clip, Peck and Twain put on a pandemic-appropriate performance. Twain, a country music icon, wore an equally iconic leopard print cat suit, while Peck donned his trademark mask. The pair sang the new song on stage at a drive-in movie theater while the audience nodded along in their cars wearing cowboy hats and dripping sweat. It was a bit of a fantastical country music dreamland.
As for cameos, the currently reigning RuPaul's Drag Race winner Jaida Essence Hall is there, heels up taking in the show. She undoubtedly knows this set up well as she has been performing as a part of the Drive N Drag events. For those, she has been touring with other Drag Race alum and putting on a similar drive-in performance. I'm sure it was nice to be on the other side of that.
In addition, John Waters and Evil make cameos. Miss Toto, also a notable drag performer, is also there ith quite a bit of screentime alongside Hall. She appears out of drag.
The single and track come as a part of Peck's six-song EP Show Pony, also released at midnight.
