She really got into it!
Saturday Night Live went queer this Saturday. Dan Levy made his debut as host, turning out some really solid skits including one particular gem that saw all of the LGBTQ+ cast members of the show as characters. But during the night, Phoebe Bridgers also gave two stand-out performances.
The first performance as to Bridgers hit "Kyoto," which is currently up for two Grammys, Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song. The track is on her Punisher album which is up for Best Alternative Music Album. For the performance, Bridgers and her cast appeared in skeleton suits. The suits, at this point, have become a part of her brand.
For her second performance, which was red-tinged where the other focused on the color blue, Bridgers performed "I Know the End." For this, she swapped out her skeleton suit for a high-fashion version of the same look that encluded embellishment that had a striking resemblance to a skeletal ribcage. In fact, it's remarkably similar to a look we've seen Moira Rose wear on Schitt's Creek. For those who aren't familiar with the song, they may have not known that it builds up to quite the release. There's a bit of a jam out session towards the end, and onstage Bridgers let out a few yells. And then, she smashed her guitar on one of the feedback monitors. Yep, sparks everywhere, the guitar left mangled.
What a show.
