Here Are the Queer Artists Playing Coachella 2023 We Can't Wait to See
Coachella 2023 is for the gays!
Frank Ocean may be the Coachella Valley Music and Art Festival's first out, queer headliner, but he's far from the only queer artist taking the stage at this year's festival. Out of the dozens of artists playing this year's festival, there's a good number of LGBTQ+ artists, making sure that you can enjoy queer music all weekend long.
Here are the queer artists performing at Coachella this year. Who are you most excited to see?
070 Shake
Singer and rapper 070 Shake had her first Billboard Hot 100 hit this year with "Escapism" by Raye. She used to date Kehlani.
Angèle
This Belgian singer came out as bisexual in 2020. Her music is inspired by French pop, electronic music, and rap.
Ashnikko
This sapphic alt-pop singer is pansexual and genderfluid. She's dating fellow singer Arlo Parks.
boygenius
Boygenius is an indie rock supergroup formed by queer singer/songwriters Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers, and Lucy Dacus in 2018.
Christine and the Queens
Chris is a French singer and songwriter who is pansexual and trans. He's collaborated with Charli XCX, Caroline Polachek, and 070 Shake.
Doecchi
This queer rapper released her sophomore EP She/Her/Black Bitch last year and was nominated for her first MTV VMA for the song "Persuasive."
Ethel Cain
Bisexual singer-songwriter Ethel Cain released her debut studio album Preacher's Daughter last year, with many critics calling it one of the best albums of the year.
Frank Ocean
Frank Ocean, who is headlining this year, has released several albums including Channel Orange and Blond, and has won two Grammys.
Gabriels
Led by out former American Idol contestant Jacob Lusk, this British-American three-piece band released their debut EP in 2021.
Kali Uchis
Colombian-American pop singer Kali Uchis is bisexual and won a Grammy for featuring on the Kaytranada song "10%."

This gay Haitian-Canadian DJ won two Grammy Awards in 2019.

London based rapper and singer Lava La Rue released their EP Hi-Fidelity last year to critical acclaim.

One of the best bands in the world, MUNA is a sapphic pop-rock trio who's self-titled album was one of the best of 2022.
Remi Wolf
Alt-pop singer Remi Wolf is bisexual and released her first studio album, Juno, in 2021.
UMI
UMI is a queer American singer and songwriter known for the 2018 song "Remember Me."
Uncle Waffles
This South African DJ came out as bisexual last year.
Yaeji
Yaeji is a Brooklyn-based singer and DJ. She's Korean-American and queer.
YUNGBLUD
English singer, musician, and actor Yungblud identifies as pansexual and polyamorous.
Yves Tumor
Experimental artist Yves Tumor is bringing their brand of electronic music to Coachella this year.
