Liz Cheney Throws Lesbian Sister Under The Bus
Remember when Dick Cheney ran for office with George W. Bush? And remember how they basically ignored Cheney's lesbian daughter, Mary, lest they scare away conservative voters? And remember how when Mary and her wife, Heather Poe, had a baby, the only picture of the lad sent to the press was of Dick and his wife holding him, rather than Mary and her wife, because, you know, lesbian moms?!
Well, it seems the apple doesn't fall far from the tree when it comes to distancing the Cheney brand from that other, less "traditional" fruit, Mary the lesbian. CNN reports that Liz Cheney, Dick's other daughter, went to great lengths today to essentially throw her sister, and all married gays and lesbians, under the bus.
Reacting to a "push poll" in which she, Liz Cheney, a Wyoming candidate for U.S. Senate, was described as "aggressively promoting gay marriage," Ms. Cheney released a statement insisting she does not support marriage equality. "I am not pro-gay marriage... I believe the issue of marriage must be decided by the states, and by the people in the states, not by judges and not even by legislators, but by the people themselves," she said.
Family dinners are the Cheney household must be like hell on earth.
