Over the years, his brusque style, he says, has inspired many people to send him their own rants, and at a show last week, he shared an 18-year old's letter of resignation from the Mormon Church, in light of its history institutionalized racism and its continued institutionalized homophobia.
Most recently, the Mormon Church adopted a new policy that makes being in a same-sex marriage grounds for excommunication, and bars the children of gay or lesbian parents from receiving communion and being welcomed at all into the church. In response to the move, mass protests and resignations have been planned by current members.
