Guests at the filming of the second annual Logo Trailblazer Honors last night were the first to hear a very special message from the President of the United States. To kick off the night, Samira Wiley and Jason Collins honored President Barack Obama and his administration for the work they have done, and continue to do, to improve the lives of LGBT people. Although the President couldn't be there, he sent along a video message celebrating a decade of Logo TV and "ten years of enormous progress."
"All you have to do is look at this month's cover of Vanity Fair to see that America is more accepting of people for who they truly are."
While he finished his message with a reminder that more work needs to be done, his tone was hopeful:
"Tonight is a reminder that when everybody does their part, when every voice is heard, change is not just possible. Change is inevitable."
