GLAAD's annual awards recognizes and honors media for fair, accurate, and inclusive representations of LGBT people and their lives. The organization has just released the nominees for its 27th year, a wide-ranging list that pays tribute to the richly diverse nature of society, something that mainstream awards programs have largely failed to appreciate.
Spread across numerous categories, media outlets like MSNBC and the New York Times picked up a few nominations each, with our sister publication, The Advocate, included in the category of Outstanding Overall Magazine Coverage.
