North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory (R) faced off against Attorney General Roy Cooper (D) in a debate for the NC gubernatorial race last night.
McCrory has recently taken heat for signing HB2--the bill requiring trans individuals to use the bathroom associated with their sex at birth--and that issue came up in the debate, as well as discussion of what bathroom Caitlyn Jenner should use.

"If you're in our schools, including Rocky Mountain High School, where Roy is running commercials from, if you're a man, you're going to the men's locker room, restroom, or shower," said McCrory.
"If [Caitlyn Jenner] is going to a shower facility at UNC Chapel Hill, after running around the track, she's going to use the men's shower," he continued. Watch the clip below.
Cooper responded: "HB2 has to be repealed. It writes discrimination into our law, and it has been a disaster for our economy. This legislation was passed in one day and signed in the middle of the night. Governor McCrory continues to go across the state telling people that this is not hurting our economy. He attacks businesses that are opposed to it. Governor, what planet are you on?"

He continued: "We've got to quit blaming it on other people. What we need to do is repeal House Bill 2 now."
Here's another clip of the debate:
The debate aired on UNC - TV last night. Other topics included whom each candidate would be voting for in the presidential election. On the matter, McCrory stood by Trump, and said, "Mr. Trump needs to have his mouth washed out with soap, but so does Mrs. Clinton."
Cooper responded: "It's hard to believe that Gov. McCrory continues to support a presidential candidate who condones sexual assault. Gov. McCrory and Donald Trump are a lot alike. They both have trouble with the facts and they both engage in divisive rhetoric."
