Planned Parenthood Vows To Keep Fighting Under a Trump Presidency
Now that Donald Trump has won the election, he has a long list of promises to keep to his electorate, many of which helped polarize the nation.
Among Trump's chief promises that helped reinforce his campaign was to defund Planned Parenthood, an invaluable resource for young girls and women when it comes to reproductive education and healthcare. The GOP has long villainized the organization, focusing on the access it gives women, even those with harmful or unintended pregnancies, to abortions. But PP also provides countless women with contraception, STD testing and treatment, and cervical cancer screenings.
As results came in at a grueling pace last night, the Planned Parenthood Action Fund, along with Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards, took to Twitter to express that no matter the outcome, the would keep their doors open and continue to help those in need.
“We don't yet know the final outcome. We do know that we'll never stop fighting for access to care at PP & reproductive rights. #WeWontGoBack”— Planned Parenthood Action (@Planned Parenthood Action) 1478674369
“Let’s get these words out of the way: Devastated. Angry. Shocked. Disgusted.

But mark these words: Planned Parenthood's doors stay open.”— Planned Parenthood Action (@Planned Parenthood Action) 1478711701
“Planned Parenthood will never stop fighting for our patients, and providing the care they need.”— Cecile Richards (@Cecile Richards) 1478678373
