GreatNonprofits named Free2Luv, Seacoast Outright, LGBT Center of Raleigh, CenterLink, and Equality Florida Action the top LGBTQ charities of 2016.

Nonprofit review website GreatNonprofits released a list of their Top-Rated LGBTQ non-profit charities of 2016 on Tuesday.

Each year, GreatNonprofits releases a list of the 47 best charities for a number of different categories as determined by those who deal directly with the charities as donors, volunteers, and recipients of aid. This year, five LGBTQ issue-related charities were selected for earning the highest ratings of helping those in need.

Those selected were Seattle's Free2Luv, Portsmouth, New Hampshire's Seacoast Outright, Raleigh's LGBT Center of Raleigh, Ft. Lauderdale's CenterLink: The Community of LGBT Centers, and St. Petersburg, Florida's Equality Florida Action, Inc.

"With the Top-Rated Charities list, people can easily see which charities are making a real difference in the communities and issues they serve," said Perla Ni, CEO of GreatNonprofits. "People are inspired and informed by the list, which shares amazing personal stories from the people who know these charities the best. GreatNonprofits empowers people to share their experiences and help others find the best charities--whether they wish to donate, volunteer, or know someone trying to find help."

For more information about these charities or others in your area, you can visit GreatNonprofits.org to find, review, and share information. You can always donate or volunteer your time to an organization in need.

Now more than ever, these charities will be critical in terms of providing life-saving services to LGBT individuals and spreading messages of love and inclusivity across the U.S.
