NYC AIDS Memorial Park
Photos by Glenn Garner
In honor of World AIDS Day today, hundreds of New Yorkers flocked to the West Village. It was the unveiling of the New York City AIDS Memorial Park at St. Vincent's Triangle, a beautiful canopy over a granite water feature with Walt Whitman's "Song of Myself" engraved in the pavers. Hosted by Tony-winning Broadway performer Billy Porter, the event featured words from New York City Mayor Bill De Blasio and other members of the community, as well as a performance by the New York City Gay Men's Chorus.
