Michelle Obama Asks Oprah, 'What Do We Do If We Don't Have Hope?'

mobama oprah final interview

In a clip from her final interview as FLOTUS, Michelle Obama sits down with Oprah Winfrey to discuss her husband's legacy.

Michelle and Barack Obama are leaving The White House, and as sad as most of us are at that unbearable truth, we at least have the last eight years to keep us warm at night. In a clip posted by CBS This Morning from Mrs. O's final interview as first lady, she chats with sisterfriend Oprah Winfrey about her husband's legacy of hope.

When asked if she thinks Barack delivered on his promise of hope, Michelle had the perfect answer (as always).

"Yes, I do. Because we feel the difference now," MO tells O, nodding in agreement. "Now we're feeling what not having hope feels like."

Mrs. O goes on to talk about the power of hope and the benefit of having a "grown-up in The White House who can say to you in times of crisis and turmoil, 'Hey, it's gonna be okay.'" Rather than, I dunno, "We're all screwed, folks. Sad!"

As Harvey Milk once said, "The only thing they have to look forward to is hope. And you have to give them hope." Michelle Obama seems to echo this when she asks, "What do we do if we don't have hope, Oprah?"

I don't know, Michelle...we'll see come Inauguration Day. Check out the living, breathing definition of #GOALS below:
