As LGBT people end a tough year, a new video highlights one of the biggest tragedies of 2016 and proves how, even in this community's darkest hour, we stand strong.
Gay Star News has released a video tribute to the heroes and victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando, Florida, where 49 people were killed and 53 more were injured during the U.S.'s worst mass shooting ever.
The video compiles heartbreaking news coverage, including the interview with mother Christine Leinonen as she searched for news of her son, Drew, who she later learned died in the gay club. It also shows the thousands who gathered to donate blood in Orlando in the wake of the tragedy.
Other highlights include Lin-Manuel Miranda's "Love is love" speech, and pop singer Sia's "The Greatest" music video dedicated to the victims.
"The thing about the LGBTI community is, and what distinguishes from the world at large, how strong we are, how much we love, how we can unite we will fight on," the video says.
