In light of recent anti-LGBT legislation, three Daily Show segments focused on educating the general public about transgender rights.

Whether you're on board with The Daily Show with Trevor Noah or desperately missing the Jon Stewart days, one can't deny that Noah is beginning to find his footing and edge.

Last night, three enlightened, humorous, and downright educational segments took place on the show.Noah, with his wide eyes and charming accent, utilized a large portion of his satrical news program to discuss the anti-LGBT legislation currently proposed in North Carolina, Tennessee, and Mississippi.

Noah's approach focused on the trans community, the discrimination these people have faced for being who they are, and what these proposed "bathroom bills" actually mean. Noah also called out the recent legislation in North Carolina and Kansas for being prejudiced, unnecessary, and unenforcable. In his words, "Hatred is rarely well thought out."

Daily Show senior correspondent Jessica Williams spoke to Megan Taylor, a black trans woman who was arrested in 2015 for being trans. After attempting to check into an Iowa hotel, a receptionist made a bizarre 911 call because Taylor appeared female, but used a male driver's ID. Taylor then spent eight days in jail following the incident. In the same segment, Williams breaks down the unfounded "trans panic" and points out the absurdities behind it.

Noah then sat down with TransTech Founder Angelica Ross to discuss her life, experiences, and her ideas about educating the general public about the transgender community. Ross is also an actress who appeared in Her Story, a short web series that documented the dating lives of two trans women. Remember, if you're asking yourself whether what you're about to say is offensive then don't say it.
