Ted Cruz recently pulled a page from Donald Trump's campaign book and removed a peaceful protester and rally-goer from one of his speaking events. In a not-so-surprising happening, James Van Kuilenburg, a transgender teen, was asked to leave the Maryland rally before Ted Cruz even began speaking because he was seen with peaceful protesters outside. Van Kuilenburg, 16, and his mother acquired valid tickets for the event and, when asked for a real reason as to why they were being removed, were met with silence.
"I came here to represent the LGBT youth who are hurt by his propaganda and rhetoric," Van Kuilenburg told a local news outlet. "As youth watching TV, learning about politics, and knowing that there are people who hate me before they even know me is disgusting and I want the people there to know that it's disgusting."
