Dyer made the announcement this week alongside Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs to celebrate and remember the lives of the 49 lost in the June 2016 shooting. The new holiday, being touted as "a day of love and kindness," will feature various community events, including a flag unveiling, community reflection and gallery of items collected from Orlando memorial sites.
