In the span of only two days, close to 250 potential jurors have already been dismissed from Martin Shkreli's securities fraud trial. According
to reports, many were let go because they expressed strong objections toward the former hedge-fund manager.
The news ties back to Shkreli--AKA "Pharma Bro"--and his 2015 decision to raise prices on a list of life-saving drugs, including Daraprim, which treats HIV patients. Originally priced at $13.50, the MSMB Capital Management founder raised the price to $750 per tablet.
Potential jurors described the plaintiff as "the most hated man in America" and "the face of corporate greed." And while Shkreli's lawyer Benjamin Brafman doesn't seem too fond of his client, calling him "weird" and "creepy," he admits he's "brilliant beyond words" and used his "genius" to make millions.
Citing queer lyrics from Monster Queen herself, Brafman tried to reason with the jury stating, "As
Lady Gaga would say: He was born this way." Here's to Brafman and his poker face.
