The drag competition's spinoff show, Untucked, is even up for Best Unstructured Reality Program.

Shantay, RuPaul is here to stay. After one of the most sickening (and most watched) seasons yet, RuPaul's Drag Race is proving why it's the best competition on TV. The drag queen competition that's nine seasons strong is nominated for eight awards at this year's Emmy's, which is a major victory after last year's Emmy win for Outstanding Host of a Variety, Nonfiction, or Reality Program.

In this past season, the show jumped from Logo to VH1, brought in A-list guest stars Lady Gaga, Kesha, and Lisa Kudrow, and ended in a show-stopping finale that had Sasha Velour prove her worth as America's next drag superstar. Now, the crew will be heading to the prestigious awards show with nominations for Reality Competition, Host, Casting, Costumes, Picture Editing, Hairstyling, Makeup, and Unstructured Reality Program for the spinoff-show Untucked.

In a statement about the nominations, RuPaul had this to say about the historic moment: "I want to thank the academy for honoring the entire cast and crew of RuPaul's Drag Race, my family at World of Wonder, and our champions at VH1. It takes a village, people! Their creativity and dedication to telling the stories of our brave and talented queens never ceases to amaze, amuse and inspire."
