Michelle Visage Weighs in on Trans Drag Queens
“I stand very loudly and proudly with the trans community,” Michelle Visage said.
In an interview with Vulture,RuPaul's Drag Race judge Michelle Visage stated that she believes trans women have a place within drag.
"I never saw an issue with trans women doing drag because I knew that to be part of the spectrum. It's weird that we've come to this place where a lot of trans women, Peppermint included, Carmen Carerra, a bunch of them get a lot of shit for being a drag performer as trans women," Visage said. "It's time we stop persecuting. Why can't this person do whatever they want to do?"

Visage said that she's proud to have had many trans and gender-nonconforming queens on RuPaul's Drag Race.
"As far as the show goes, we have had a lot of trans women on over the years," Visage said. "The more we progress, I'm proud of that. I stand very loudly and proudly with the trans community."
Visage said that she is still by RuPaul's side through the controversy.
"He'll always look out for me, and I'll always look out for him," Visage said. "I'm his ride-or-die."
