Kesha has lost an appeal to get out of her conract with Dr. Luke.
Kesha and Dr. Luke's legal battle continues to get uglier--according to The Hollywood Reporter, the songstress suffered another blow today in court when a New York appeals judge rejected her attempt to leave her contract with the producer.
"Kesha's proposed amendments are palpably insufficient and devoid of merit," reads the official statement from New York's First Department. "Her counterclaim seeking declaratory relief terminating the agreements on the ground of impossibility and impracticability of performance was speculative, contradicted by her own allegations that she had continued performing under the agreements and, as to at least one of the agreements, the impossibility was not produced by an unanticipated event that could not have been foreseen or guarded against."

Kesha had initially sued Dr. Luke with allegations of sexual assault and abuse, and then received a countersuit of defamation from him. In response to him, Kesha sued again, looking for a wat out of her contract, but that suit was rejected back in March 2017 by New York Supreme Court Justice Shirley Kornreich. Today, her appeal was also rejected.
"You can get a divorce from an abusive spouse," her countersuit read. "You can dissolve a partnership if the relationship becomes irreconcilable. The same opportunity -- to be liberated from the physical, emotional, and financial bondage of a destructive relationship -- should be available to a recording artist."
Dr. Luke's defamation suit against Kesha could end up going to trial soon.
