Gay Lawmaker Brian Sims Welcomes Mike Pence to Philadelphia by Flipping Him Off

Brian Sims, Mike Pence

Ah, the City of Brotherly Love.

Let the record show that Pennsylvania congressman Brian Sims is not one to pull punches of sugar coat how he feels about anything... or anyone.

In a recent Facebook post ahead of a visit from Vice President Mike Pence, Sims, who represents Pennsylvania's 182nd district in the state's House of Representatives, made it very clear how he felt about Pence's well-documented anti-LGBT stance on many social issues.

"To be clear, we're a City of soaring diversity. We believe in the power of all people to live and to contribute: Black, Brown, Queer, Trans, Atheist, Immigrant, we want you and we'll respect you," Sims wrote. "So keep that in mind while you're here raising money to attack more families, spread more lies, blaspheme with your bible, and maybe even talk to a woman without your wife in the room."

Of course the emotion in Sims' post was appropriately punctuated with an image of him giving the middle finger to the camera. "So... get bent, then get out!" he concluded.
