Israel, which is known for being a country with a thriving queer community - especially in cities such as Tel Aviv, passed a law today excluding gay people from using a surrogate. The decision caused citizens to act: People came out in opposition to the law by protesting with rainbow flags in Tel Aviv.
"The Knesset [the Israeli government] launched a war against the gay community today, and the community will fight back," a protestor told Haaretz.com. "The prime minister's smiling face while he voted for hatred [...] against the gay community shows his huge disconnect with the government."
