Don't Let Aaron Schock's Sam Smith IG Post Trap You

If you're a disgraced former Republican congressman with bulging biceps, you have limited options on how to remain in the spotlight. Attempting to amass Instagram thirst seems to be one of those avenues, based on the latest post on former Illinois representative Aaron Schock.

On Wednesday morning, Schock posted a shot with definitely-not-first-gay-Oscar-winner Sam Smith with the caption "It is him." Schock geotagged Los Angeles' Staples Center, where Elton John performed Tuesday night as part of his ongoing "Farewell Yellow Brick Road" tour. Smith also posted a picture of himself, Lady Gaga and Elton John on his Instagram.

Several people were thirsting after Schock in the comments, including one person who pointed out to his technically good physique by saying, "I see that vein!"

I have one plea to all of you: Please. Stop. Immediately.

You might remember some of Schock's greatest hits, like being America's former fittest Congressman, and being indicted for spending taxpayer dollars on lavish flights and to transform his Congressional office into an elaborate ode to Downton Abbey, and being both extremely anti-gay and allegedly sorta closeted about his own sexuality. Though we're not sure what he's been up to since then, besides attending Elton John concerts, Schock was offered $1 million to do porn in 2016.

There's more, of course. During his 6 years in office, Schock voted against repealing "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," voted against the DREAM Act, and voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act.

So, consider me a newly-minted member of Gays Against Guns, because I hereby ban you from thirsting after this man's arms.
