Beyoncé typically uses her official website to share statements, birthday wishes, and tributes to people who have passed away. These messages are typically directed toward other celebrities she knows and/or admires, as well as close friends and loved ones.

But on Tuesday, August 3, Queen Bey posted a new message on her website that was dedicated to a late fan – O’Shae Sibley, a 28-year-old dancer and choreographer who was recently stabbed to death at a gas station after dancing to the Renaissance album with his friends.

Beyoncé’s website gets a lot of traffic from people looking for tickets to the Renaissance World Tour, as well as merch and album sales. Fans also regularly access the website to see which messages the singer shares on the page.

Following the news of Sibley’s murder, the website now features a powerful tribute at the top: “Rest in power, O’Shae Sibley.”

While there’s still an active police investigation regarding Sibley’s death, multiple reports and surveillance footage show that he was confronted and stabbed by a group of men after just dancing to Beyoncé’s music at a gas station in Brooklyn. His friends who survived the altercation have also confirmed that this was absolutely a hate crime for Sibley being gay.

There is some speculation that Beyoncé might do an on-stage tribute to Sibley at some point in the Renaissance World Tour. Alas, this acknowledgment on her official website – which she updates with important statements way more regularly than social media pages – is already a huge recognition from the superstar.

This is an incredibly tragic situation, and we support that justice for O’Shae Sibley can be served as swiftly as possible.
