A week after two gay Australian men were reported missing, police in the country have said that they found two bodies they are “very confident” belong to Jesse Baird and his partner Luke Davies.
On Monday, February 19, TV personality Jesse Baird and his boyfriend Luke Davies were reported missing after neighbors reportedly heard an argument at their house. On Friday, February 23, Constable Beau Lamarre-Condon, an Australian police officer, turned himself in to Sydney police and was charged with two counts of murder.
Lamarre-Condon, who used to be Baird’s partner, allegedly killed the couple at Baird’s home and then had a white van dispose of their bodies. Last week, authorities found bloodied items belonging to Baird and Davies in a trash bin, and the white van was found in Newcastle, Australia.
Now, Lamarre-Condon has revealed the location of the bodies to police, allowing them to find the remains in a rural town about 200km south of central Sydney.
According to police, “remains” thought to belong to Baird and Davies were found in “two surf bags” along with “some other items of interest” in the town of Bungonia.
Baird was a presenter and red carpet reporter for Australia’s Network 10. Davies was a flight attendant for Australian airline Qantas.
Due to Lamarre-Condon involvement in the investigation, the New South Wales police have been disinvited to Sydney’s Mardi Gras celebrations. Local police are claiming the move as unfair, as they allege the crimes were not hate crimes and were crimes of “passion.”
