On Monday, May 27, Jewish Voice for Peace — described as the largest progressive Jewish anti-Zionist organization in the world — shared photos and further details that reflect the Tent Massacre that took place in Rafah. The organization's official Instagram account wrote in a post:
"Last night during the Tent Massacre in Rafah, Palestinians couldn't find their injured loved ones or the remains of those who were murdered by the Israeli military. They only had phone flashlights to look for them. Parents were using their bare hands collecting their children's body parts. Palestinians were trying to put out the fire using sand since the state of Israel cut access to water."
The caption continued, "Two million people live in Gaza, a piece of land approximately the size of Philadelphia containing one-third more people than the American city. The densest part of Gaza — the municipality that contains Gaza City — has roughly 10 times as many people as Philadelphia's most populous ZIP code. Gaza has been living in darkness for months."
Now more than ever, high-profile figures in the LGBTQ+ community are using their platforms to show support for Palestine and react to the latest massacre in Rafah.
