A leather harness put to use

A unique donation to help victims of the Los Angeles fires has gone viral on TikTok.

A little levity is welcome in Los Angeles right now as the community is trying to recover from devastating wildfires that have burned over 40,000 acres and caused at least 24 fatalities since the flames began on January 7.

On TikTok, one user shared a unique donation she collected during an essential item/clothing drive in the City of Angels.

Sofia Arce posted an image of a blue leather harness among other items donated to people who lost clothes and other goods due to the fires.

"Thank you to the freaky diva who donated this at our essential item/clothing drive in LA this morning," the TikTok captions reads, while a sped-up audio of Rihanna's "S&M" plays.

"Tbh gave us a moment of laughter in the chaos while figuring out how to sort it," Arce added in a caption.

The comments were mostly supportive of the donation, with people remarking that "freaky people also lost their stuff" in the disaster.

"No because some divas may need to rebuild," one commenter said. "They knew a baddie needed it," another wrote.

Others pointed out the similarity between this donation and a famous scene in the movie Clueless, where lead character Cher Horowitz is helping organize donations for the Pismo Beach disaster. In addition to clothes and food (including caviar), Cher packs up tennis rackets and skis to give to the community in need.

"To quote Clueless… 'some people lost all their belongings, don't you think that includes athletic equipment?'" a commenter reminded us.

Out has reached out to the original poster for comment. In the meantime, here is a list of places to donate to assist L.A. fire victims.
