Miss Major Griffin-Gracey, an icon of the American LGBTQ+ rights movement and a veteran of the Stonewall riots, has been hospitalized and is seeking help from her community.
According to social media posts, Miss Major is sick and was hospitalized for two days. The posts said she was to be released Thursday, but would need "a round the clock nurse to help her recover."
The post includes a picture of the 2019 Out cover star, as well as QR codes linking to her Cash App and Venmo pages. Her Venmo handle is @major-griffingracy, and her Cash App is $MajorGriffinGracy.
Miss Major has been active in trans activism for over 50 years, going all the way back to Stonewall and continuing through the 2010s and 2020s with organizations like the Transgender Gender-Variant and Instersex Justice Project, which she led as the executive director until 2015.
She was previously hospitalized in 2019 when she had a stroke, but her life didn't end there..
In 2021, she and her partner Beck welcomed a new baby to the world. "We had a baby! Asaih Wittenstein Major was born on sat, 1/9/21 (rhymes with messiah)," a post about the birth read.
