The lawsuit notes "hateful and defamatory" criticisms shared about the drag performers featured at the Paris 2024 Olympics opening ceremony.

RuPaul's Drag Race superstar and Drag Race France host Nicky Doll is suing a high-profile conservative pundit who accused her — along with all the other drag performers featured at the Paris 2024 Olympics opening ceremony — of being a "pedo."

Nicky Doll officially announced this lawsuit on Friday, August 2 via an X post that included a legal statement originally written in French. In English, the letter reads:

"Following the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games on July 26, 2024, the artists who performed on the Debilly footbridge suffered an unprecedented wave of hatred and faced the trivialization of insults due to their sexual orientation or gender identity. The lawyers of Stop Homophobie have received numerous reports of incitement to hatred, insults, online harassment, threats, and defamation. The firm was notified by Mr. Karl Sanchez, known as Nicky Doll, of a defamation complaint filed against Mr. Laurence Fox and other users of the social network X (Twitter)."

The legal statement continues:

"Nicky Doll, who has been receiving insults and hate messages for years, has suffered an unprecedented wave of animosity and ill will since her performance on the 'Festivity' table of the ceremony, going as far as death threats. These messages go far beyond artistic criticism, and, for some, convey hateful and defamatory conflations, equating drag performances and pedophilia. These comparisons are serious and unacceptable. It is in this sense that justice has been taken, and that any publication or message equating Nicky Doll's performance with encouragement of pedophile practices will be reported."

Moreover, Nicky wrote in the caption of this X post:

"I will never again allow myself and other queer people to be defamed and demonized. If responding with love doesn't work for some, then responding with justice should work. See you in court."

If the name Laurence Fox rings a bell, that is because this is the exact same English actor-turned-politician sued by RuPaul's Drag Race UK star Crystal after calling the drag performer a "pedophile." In April 2024, Fox was officially ordered to pay £180,000 ($220,000) to Crystal after losing his libel case against the Drag Race UK alum.

During the opening ceremony broadcast of the Paris 2024 Olympics, which took place on Friday, July 26, Fox shared a new X post reacting to the video segment featuring Nicky Doll and other drag performers. Fox wrote:

"No point in getting wound up when the child f*ckers want to wind you up. Just laugh at the deviant little pedos. Eternity is a b*tch."

Nicky Doll first reacted to Fox's comments one day later, on Saturday, July 27, writing a subtle response to the original X post:

"Lawyer on the line, see you in court!"

The Drag Race France host followed that up two days later, on Sunday, July 28, writing:

"Since you didn't learn the first time around when you called my friend @crystalwillseeu a 'pedo,' I'm going to show you that you don't get to write things like that about queer people for the fun and the misinformation of it and go away with it. See you in court, again, @LozzaFox!"

As of this writing, Laurence Fox has not responded to Nicky Doll's X post and legal statement.
