Hello Out readers.
The bad news is, Donald Trump won the Presidential election, taking both the electoral college and the popular vote.
The next four years are going to be hard ones for the LGBTQ+ community, and for the majority of Americans, and for many people around the world.
In the US, we have to worry about Project 2025, a plan that far-right activists have drawn up to transform the country under a conservative president. The project includes plans to expand abortion bans, fight against "LGBTQ+ equity" and "new woke gender ideology" and make America into a more fascist nation.
There is some good news.
In Delaware, Sarah McBride won her election to the House of Representatives, meaning that she will be the first out member of Congress.
In Texas, Julie Johnson was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, becoming the first out LGBTQ+ person elected to Congress from the South.
We've got hard times ahead, thankfully, we have each other.
