Slather Cabaret
Deep within the walls of Lower East Side's Ludlow House, designer and artist Love Bailey, and her Slather Factory family assembled for a big, queer Slather Cabaret to kick off Pride weekend. We'd already guessed that the secretive event would be as unrelentingly strange as anything Bailey's created before given that the event description teased "an evening of Cabaret, Burlesque, Cinema, Horny beats and other naughty surprises," but nothing could prepare us for what followed.

Performances by Gia Garison and Brody Blomqvist kicked off the night with a takeover of the downstairs bar that left heterosexual onlookers in shock and had New York's most provocative nightlife queens cheering. Everyone from Bailey Styles and Jordan Stawecki to Violet Chachki and Merrie Cherry made their entrances at the most diverse and inclusive Pride party we'd ever been to.
