Broadway's Michael Longoria is getting us ready for Christmas extra early this year, with the release of his new album Merry Christmas Darling. Following the release of his debut album Broadway Brick By Brick, Longoria is now singing us home for the holidays with a collection of his favorite Christmas tunes (and a brand new one), available to buy November 9th.
"I wanted to record a romantic Christmas album that would make you think of the darling in your life that warms you up when it's cold outside," Longoria, best known for his star turn as Frankie Valli in the Tony Award Winning musical Jersey Boys, tells Out. "A holiday mixtape that you would have made for your big crush in high school. And in musical keys that will make you want to belt so high that the sound might reach Santa's reindeer up in the clouds on Christmas Eve."
Merry Christmas Darling, a romantic holiday album with a throwback 60s vibe, includes standards like "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)," weaved in with modern day classics such as "All I Want For Christmas Is You" and "Last Christmas." The album also features the debut of an original Christmas song co-written by Longoria and Rona Siddiqui called "Merry Me This Christmas."

"It's a song about how I met the boy I'd eventually marry," Longoria shares. "I met him online (as you do) and we realized soon after a computerized courtship, that we had a mutual friend in New York who was throwing a Christmas party. So I decided to meet up with this cutie in person to see if he looked like the pics on his profile or was anything like the dream I had made up in my head. His eyes were strikingly bluer, he was much taller, and way cuter than his profile picture. Oh, and his name was "Taylor" not "Tyler," which was what I had been calling him to all of my friends."
He continues: "I didn't know it at the time but this fella would change my heart in ways I had never imagined. We got married last December, and I'm really hoping 'Merry Me This Christmas' becomes the wedding song for Christmas time proposals!"
