Seems like it's going to be a busy, busy summer of weddings. After Christine Quinn and Kim Catullo's high-profile wedding the weekend before, this Memorial Day weekend saw Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon wed to educational activist Christine Marinoni in New York City.
According to People magazine, Nixon wore a custom Carolina Herrera gown for her walk down the aisle on Sunday.
The couple, who have been together since 2004, announced their engagement at a 2009 rally supporting same-sex marriage before it became legal this past July. "I'm enjoying being engaged very much," Nixon said in 2010. "I don't mind a long engagement, which this one is surely turning out to be."
Marinoni gave birth to their first child, Max Ellington Nixon-Marinoni, last February. The couple is also raising Nixon's two children from her previous relationship with photographer Danny Mozes.
Nixon has been in the news as of late for her somewhat controversial views on the fluidity of her sexuality. Now that she's married, maybe the critics will leave her alone?
