AFC: A Place at the Table
The Ali Forney Center (AFC) celebrated its 16th anniversary with its largest annual benefit -- A Place at the Table -- on Friday, October 12 at Ciprani Wall Street.
The nation's largest organization dedicated to helping homeless LGBTQ youth, A Place at the Table raises funds for AFC's shelter and housing program. Over the past 12 months, AFC has reported a 20% increase in the number of young people being kicked out of their homes because of homophobia, transphobia and family rejection. Todrick Hall hosted Friday's gala with honors given to Marti Gould Cummings, Laurie Freedman and Lexi Prez. Other notable guests included Jussie Smollet, Tommy Dorfman, James Whiteside, Alysia Reiner, J. Alexander, and Geena Rocero.
