Wilson writes about himself:
"These images are from an experimental gallery of men I have worked with since moving to Los Angeles in 2016 and 2017. The images are digital and film, meant for the open minded and free spirited. The ideas I have, I try to convey with beauty, edge, and a fragile blend between the masculine and feminine.
"Being from small town North Carolina, and growing up gay in a heteronormative world, I always tried to hide my true self from everyone around me. Often times that would be playing up my masculine side and hardly ever letting my feminine, gentle, inner creative side out. I'm making up for lost time, especially in my art, and I try to show my new found freedom and past struggle with sexuality, identity, and experimenting with different mediums. I'm also exploring new boundaries within my photography experiences. I want to tell the world stories, tell the kids of today who may not have their voice yet, that it is okay. I needed to hear that as a kid and young man.
My goals with my art and photography are to constantly push boundaries within each individual I work with, the constructs that inhibit us from being our authentic selves. I am looking forward to a book project. Since my work is always evolving and changing as I grow and develop new ideas, my book will hopefully tell many stories.
One of my goals is to travel the world and photograph men from all over the world. I love using a mix of industrial and natural/rural settings. Sometimes I even use abandoned spaces to get more creative with a model. I switch up the settings so the energy between me and the muse is always fresh and new and we usually come up with something magical, with a bit of luck."
