It's that time of year again! The time when you know things are about to be over because you're already making your plans for the next year. And if you're organized (or just maybe a little thirsty) that time of year always comes with the process of picking out a new calendar. This year, photographer Mike Ruiz is back, with the latest edition of his 'Pittis and Pecs" Calendar to steal your attention.
"This year's calendar is so important because the pandemic has imposed so many restrictions on how we can actively help these inherently good souls," Mike Ruiz said in a statement about the calendar. Those souls, of course, are the Pit Bull type dogs that the 100% of the proceeds will benefit.
For the past few years, Ruiz has created a benefit calendar the features top fitness models and gorgeous canines in need of rescuing. Proceeds have always benefited varaious animal rescues, and this year that group will be Philly Bully Team.
Within the calendar there are various dogs that have been rescued by the Philly Bully Team including Brienne and Atlas. As Ruiz points out, at the beginning of the ongoing pandemic people were getting animals out of shelters as they sheltered-in-place and wanted company. But now with the world opening back up, people are returning them.
"It's so sad that these sweet souls were there to give love to people in isolation but were not considered when the need had passed," Ruiz said. "These are living, sentient beings that are not here for our entertainment nor are they disposable. That's why I feel the need to work harder than ever to help educate people."
The calendar is available now for $26.99. Preview a few months below.
