Are Beyoncé and Kamala Harris the new power duo of the pop culture and political worlds? Unfortunately, it doesn't look like it...
Despite the mounting rumors, it looks like the Grammy-winning music icon won't be taking the stage at the 2024 Democratic National Convention in Chicago on Thursday night, lending her voice (and endorsement) to presidential hopeful Harris.
While rumors have been swirling all Thursday (and even earlier this week) about a megastar of Beyoncé's caliber helping close out the final night of the DNC, fans weren't really sure what to believe, especially since Queen Bey is notoriously tight-lipped and secretive about all of her moves.
TMZ first reported the news earlier today when they heard from multiple unnamed sources that she was set to make an appearance. The Hill then also reported on the Bey-related rumors, saying they learned from two (also unnamed) sources that a Beyoncé performance was imminent.
But as it turns out, those rumors are reportedly not true, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
"Beyoncé was never scheduled to be there," an unnamed rep for Bey told The Hollywood Reporter. "The report of a performance is untrue."
Though it feels like a DNC appearance is unlikely, Beyoncé is just one of many notable pop icons who have already endorsed the current vice president and her bid for the highest office of the land, including Bey's "Savage" collaborator Megan Thee Stallion, Charli XCX, Kesha, Katy Perry, and Ariana Grande just to name a few.
