Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris is sprinting full steam ahead with her campaign, recently picking vocal LGBTQ+ ally Tim Walz to be her vice presidential running mate.
A wide array of celebrities have also now come out in support of Harris, so as she gears up to face off against former President Donald J. Trump and run the country, here are a few of the big names vocally supporting her as the next President of the United States of America.
Following Biden's officially declaring that he won't be seeking reelection, Harris thanked him.
“With this selfless and patriotic act, President Biden is doing what he has done throughout his life of service: putting the American people and our country above everything else,” she said, The Independent reports.
“I am honored to have the President’s endorsement and my intention is to earn and win this nomination,” she said. “Over the past year, I have traveled across the country, talking with Americans about the clear choice in this momentous election.”
Though the pop icon has not explicitly endorsed Harris, she did let the presidential nominee use her song "Freedom" in her first campaign ad and at campaign events. Beyoncé is reportedly set to donate $4 million dollars to Harris' campaign and has cleared her schedule to attend an upcoming event.
Three words from Charli xcx launched an incessant news campaign on both political sides about whether Harris really is "brat." Now that's what we call cultural relevancy!
"I'm so ready to work to help unite the pro-democracy coalition to reject Trump's authoritarian, oppressive Project 2025 and elect Kamala Harris as our President," the Grammy Award-winning singer wrote. "She's ready for this fight and I'm excited to help her in any way I can."
Hip hop star Megan Thee Stallion performed her single "Body" at a recent Harris rally, wholeheartedly showing her support for the presidential hopeful.
At a recent live performance, Kesha opened her song "Blow" with the viral audio of Harris saying, "You think you just fell out of a coconut tree?"
The day Harris was announced as the nominee, Perry posted a video of herself singing the chorus of her new single. "It's a woman's world and you're lucky to be living in it."
The pop star shared Biden's endorsement of Harris to her Instagram story the day it was announced. It read, “Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this.”
"We will support you," wrote Curtis about Harris in a post on Instagram.
Rapper Cardi B's suggestion that Harris become the nominee was validated when it was officially announced. "AHAHAHAHA LETS GOOOOO I TOLD YALLL KAMALA WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THE 2024 candidate…..STOP FCKIN PLAYIN WITH ME !!!!!!!"
The iconic out actor shared his endorsement in a post on X (formerly Twitter). "Let us unite behind @KamalaHarris and defeat Donald Trump in November!"
"This is going to be historic," the Obamas told Harris in a phone call she shared on social media.
Taylor Swift issued a full endorsement of Kamala Harris right after the Democratic presidential candidate's first time debating Donald Trump as her direct opponent.
"Like many of you, I watched the debate tonight," Swift wrote in her official statement shared via Instagram. "If you haven't already, now is a great time to do your research on the issues at hand and the stances these candidates take on the topics that matter to you the most," her statement began. "As a voter, I make sure to watch and read everything I can about their proposed policies and plans for this country."
She continued:
"Recently I was made aware that AI of 'me' falsely endorsing Donald Trump's presidential run was posted to his site. It really conjured up my fears around AI, and the dangers of spreading misinformation. It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter. The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth."
"I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election. I'm voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them. I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos. I was so heartened and impressed by her selection of running mate @timwalz, who has been standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman's right to her own body for decades."
"I've done my research, and I've made my choice," Swift concluded. "Your research is all yours to do, and the choice is yours to make. I also want to say, especially to first time voters: Remember that in order to vote, you have to be registered! I also find it's much easier to vote early. I'll link where to register and find early voting dates and info in my story. With love and hope, Taylor Swift. Childless Cat Lady."
Billie Eilish and Finneas shared an Instagram video endorsing Harris' presidential campaign in 20224.
"Today is National Voter Registration Day, and we are asking you to please join us in going to IWillVote.com to check your status and vote early, like we do," Finneas said.
Eilish added, "We are voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz because they are fighting to protect our reproductive freedom, our planet, and our democracy."
"We can't let extremists control our lives, our freedoms, and our future," Finneas went on. "The only way to stop them and the dangerous Project 2025 agenda is to vote and elect Kamala Harris."
Eilish continued, "Vote like your life depends on it… because it does."
"Go to IWillVote.com and make a plan to vote early," Finneas reinforced.
"Love you guys," Eilish concluded.
