"…and really, that song?" the singer's official statement reads.

Not today, Cheeto!

On Saturday, August 10, Céline Dion issued an official statement disavowing Donald Trump and JD Vance from using her hit song "My Heart Will Go On," best known as the theme song of 1997's Titanic.

Dion's official statement reads:

"Today, Céline Dion's management team and her record label Sony Music Entertainment Canada inc., became aware of the unauthorized usage of the video, recording, musical performance, and likeness of Céline Dion singing 'My Heart Will Go On' at a Donald Trump / JD Vance campaign rally in Montana. In no way is this use authorized and Céline Dion does not endorse this or any similar use."

"…and really, that song?" the statement concluded.

Dion's "My Heart Will Go On" played during a campaign rally in Bozeman, Montana on Friday, August 9. According to the Daily Mail, this iconic and timeless Titanic anthem was played before Trump took the stage to address his supporters.

The Daily Mail shared a video of this moment at Trump's latest Montana rally, which you can watch below. It's awkward as heck, let's just say that!

While the crowd in Montana waited for Trump to take the stage at his rally, ‘My Heart Will Go On’ from Titanic started playing. The unique song choice caused quite a stir online, with many questioning why a political campaign would choose to play a song associated with a sinking ship. #trump #donaldtrump #trumprally #montana #news #politics #election #president #jdvance #republican #usa #titanic #celinedion

The report also highlights that the song "sparked unintentional hilarity" as it played during the Trump-Vance rally, prompting a flood of reactions on social media.

Mike Sington wrote in an X post:

"Is Trump's campaign being trolled from within? Someone on his staff decided to play Celine Dion singing 'My Heart Will Go On' from Titanic at his Montana rally. Many consider Titanic a metaphor for Trump's sinking campaign."

X user @SIGINT701st wrote in a post:

"Seems to me it's a cry for help from a sinking ship. Has anyone checked on his campaign managers, are they being held hostage or maybe water boarded?"

This is not the first time that singer bans Trump from using their songs at a campaign rally. Just a few months ago, in March, Sinéad O'Connor's estate issued a statement blasting the Trump campaign for playing "Nothing Compares 2 U" at his rallies.

The statement from O'Connor's estate read (via The Advocate):

"Throughout her life, it is well known that Sinéad O'Connor lived by a fierce moral code defined by honesty, kindness, fairness, and decency towards her fellow human beings. It was with outrage therefore that we learned that Donald Trump has been using her iconic performance of 'Nothing Compares 2 U' at his political rallies."

The statement continued, "It is no exaggeration to say that Sinéad would have been disgusted, hurt, and insulted to have her work misrepresented in this way by someone who she herself referred to as a 'biblical devil.' As the guardians of her legacy, we demand that Donald Trump and his associates desist from using her music immediately."

The Trump campaign didn't learn that lesson after the statement released by the O'Connor estate… and they're now getting dragged again by another pop culture icon!

Céline Dion, the legend that you are.
