How much would you pay for a rare item from his Las Vegas home?
With the resurgence in Liberace love due to the dynamic duo of Michael Douglas and Matt Damon who played the piano player and his former lover Scott Thorson in Behind the Candelabra, is it time for some major collectors to fork over cash for Liberace memorabilia as well?
Turns out Liberace's rare Pompadour piano has been restored by Forsyths of Deansgate Manchester UK and is to be sold at auction for an estimated PS10,000-PS15,000 (approx. $15,500-$23,250).
The piano is also accompanied by documentation of authenticity from The Liberace Foundation and was featured in the Bob Thomas book about Liberace with a picture of the ornate instrument.
You can see the piano in a corner of his opulent home in this Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous clip (at 03:37) below:
You can also see it on view here, in the 'Liberace Antique Shop' that he opened in the 1970s to show off his possessions (at 01:18) and featured a dummy likeness of Liberace sitting and pretending to play.
