We all have our own ideas of the perfect way to meet our special someone. Maybe you'll meet the love of your life in the grocery store, while you debate which hearty green to purchase. Maybe you'll be perusing the shelves of a bookstore and your future lover is engrossed in the same author you are. Or maybe you'll meet him or her in an elevator as you ascend to whereever you're going.
The new web series hopeful, Elevator Stories, is a comedic love story, based entirely inside the elevator of a New York City apartment building. It weaves together the stories of Ezabel (a fashionista and serial dater searching for the one) and Samantha (a struggling comic book artist) who moves into the building with her overbearing best friend, Bonnie. The web series will explore the relationships of all these characters, as well as featuring a handful of Ezabel's exes, which is sure to throw a wrench or two into the situation.
Jillian Rose Reed, who currently stars in Awkward, is also producing the web series. In order for Reed and the creative team to transition their script pages to computer screens everywhere, they've launched a kickstarter campaign to raise $36,000. So far, contributors have amassed $2,250, which means they have quite a ways to go!
Featuring a primarily female-driven cast and created by multi-ethnic women who are also members of the LGBT community, Elevator Stories promises to be a hilarious and heartfelt exploration of diversity, love, contemporary social issues, and relationships.
