Daniel Craig to Star in Off-Broadway Production of Othello
Once Daniel Craig finishes the red carpet and talk show circuit for Spectre, he's headed back to the stage, according to Variety.
Craig will be starring as Iago, opposite David Oyelowo (Selma, Nightingale), in an Off-Broadway run of Othello directed by Tony winner Sam Gold. It will mark Craig's first time back to theater since 2013, when he was in the Broadway revival of Betrayal with RachelWeisz. Oyelowo's theater background includes London productions of The Suppliants and Henry VI (where he played the title role).
Gold recently won a Tony for directing for Fun Home, and his production of the Pulitzer winner The Flick is currently Off-Broadway.
Othello will play at New York Theater Workshop in fall 2016.
