Watch: Iceland's Oldest Kid's Show Beautifully Explains Homosexuality

"You don’t decide what makes your heart beat, it just beats," explains former Eurovision singer Páll Óskar.

Last year, a study found Iceland to be the country where gay men are happiest in the world. The small, liberal Nordic nation made history in 2009 when Johanna Sigurdardottir was elected Prime Minister, making her the first openly gay head of state in the world. Clearly, Icelanders are an open-minded people, and they're working hard to ensure such acceptance is passed on to the next generation. A recent episode of Stundin Okkar, Iceland's longest-running kid's show, offered a beautiful explanation of homosexuality from former Eurovision contestant Pall Oskar.

When asked by a woman on the show when he knew he was gay, Oskar responds:

"When did you know you were attracted to guys and not girls?"

Her response that she's always known, he responds that it's the same for him. He then adds:

"Some guys like other guys, some guys like girls. Some girls like guys, some girls like other girls. You don't decide what makes your heart beat, it just beats."
